Description
Smart Logger-Justice records voice conversations in the courtrooms with high-quality microphones and gives instant and comfortable access to the recorded data. The operator interface is designed to be very simple. Once the record has been started operator can immediately begin transcribing using a convenient MS Word editor with the transcriber plug-in.

Microphone
Microphone with pre-amplifier is designed for reception and amplification of acoustic signals and their transmission to the “SmartLogger-Justice” system via USB board STC-H219. 
Foot pedal
Recording
To start recording choose the active channel in the list of channels and press records. To stop recording repeat the same procedure. 
Phonograms
Select a recording from the list and choose "Open in Transcriber" from thecontext menu.The recording will be automatically sent to the player and opened in the"Transcriber Word" window. 
Making transcription
Select a recording from the list and choose "Open in Transcriber" from the context menu. The recording will be automatically sent to the player and opened in the "Transcriber Word" window.
Recording label
After the recording has been started a label can be added to any record in which important information about a court process can be stated. 
Player
Loop playback
The fragment will be played in a loop until the transcription of the fragment is finished and the function is turned off.
Automatic Gain Control
Automatic gain control (AGC) allows amplifying of the weak signal and decreasing the strong one in order to make the listening more comfortable.
Noise cancellation
Noise suppression mode allows getting rid of constant noises in the room.
Sound stretcher
Sound stretcher allows slowing/fastening of speech without its distortion. 
Transcription
Transcriber automatically links the text of the transcription with the corresponding audio fragment which makes transcription control and editing fast and convenient. Transcription speed (compared to any common text editing tool) is increased 3 times for skilled typist/secretary and up to 10 times for unexperienced one Press the left button of the foot pedal to start/stop playback. Press the right button to rewind the record (2 seconds by default). To make transcription of the court sessions faster Transcriber has a “fast insert” function. 
Speakers
Speakers can be added and deleted in the Options window of Transcriber. In order to add a new speaker in the top right field insert the speaker name and press button Add. Name of the new speaker will appear on the left. The speaker can be eliminated by highlighting with cursor the name of the speaker and pressing the button Delete. Name button with customized settings is 
During transcription process by single touch of the name key the speaker is added to text. Key combination Ctrl+N (N-the number of speaker as given in the list in Options window) can be applied. The record number of the speaker can be changed also in Options window with Up and Down keys. Highlight with cursor the speaker name in the list and with key Up and Down move the name to the required position.
Export
After the court session is finished and the recording has been transcribed, a user should save the text or just close Transcriber-Word. It will suggest saving the created document. Press “Yes” and the system will save the document and will link this document with the recording. Due to the link “recording – text document” all user’s text transcriptions will be stored in the database together with the recorded audio files and a user will be able to find a required transcription from any date. To export court transcription from the list of recordings select the recording with a mouse click. Press right button for the menu and select “Export” and choose a destination folder. The text will be exported together with the linked audio file.
