The Laboratory of Forensic Acoustics is designed to fulfill the following tasks:

• Identification of a person by voice.
• Authentication of audio recordings identifying the facts of audio tampering.
• Noise cancellation and audio enhancement of poor quality voice recordings.
• Suppression of a wide range of noise, distortions and interferences in real time.
• The approximate reconstruction of the person’s physical appearance by voice sample, through visualization of voice structure and formants.
• The reconstruction of conditions in which the recordings were carried out and analysis of background noise.
• Identification of the equipment used for audio recording.
• Improvement of the quality and intelligibility of the audio recordings.
